Swing by the salon to check out our new installation ceramic pieces by Christa Brown.
"I want to bring attention to the beauty that surrounds us in everyday life. History has produced many images, patterns and designs, which have inspired me to create work reflective of historical tapestries, wallpapers, furniture, architecture, and European styles. Through the editing process I have come to design contemporary ceramics using traditional textures, patterns, and colors. For each of my designs I consider form, material, pattern and texture and how each element functions within the space or object I have created. I also try to appropriate elements of historical and contemporary design related to function both past and present. This can be seen in the vinyl pillows, reflective of the 1950's era of home design as well our contemporary uses of plastics. Based on my past and present experiences, as well as observations I strive to create beautiful, harmonious, and well-designed objects and spaces." -Christa Brown
